Peppermint Hot Chocolate
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
4 cups whole milk
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
small peppermint sticks or candy canes
In a saucepan, combine the cocoa powder, sugar and water. Stir together over low heat until well combined.
Pour in milk and peppermint extract. Stir occasionally until well heated.
Pour into demitasse cups, and top with whipped cream and a short peppermint stick.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Makes: 10-12 servings
